Our Children’s Music Mission is to impart worship education, grow musical training, and encourage spiritual formation in a engaging environment that allows children to build community by fellowship and a love of Jesus Christ through song. On Wednesdays, children ages 4 years to 5th grade meet for Children’s Choirs and Handbells in the Music Suite. Please check in at the table, then go to the Choir room for a Gathering Time from 4:45 to 5pm, where all the children will come together for a devotional. Children’s Handbells will meet with Ms. Gwyn at 5:45pm in the handbell room until 6:20pm.
Age 4 years to 1st grade Choir – Wednesday, September 13th through November 29th
Directed by Ruth Brooks
Our younger choir helps children develop their voices, motor skills, and love of God through singing favorite songs with hand motions, a short story time, and demonstrative devotionals. This is a fun and engaging place for children to learn the joy of being a part of a group and working on a common goal. The younger choir participates in traditional worship on select Sunday mornings and sings in the Hanging of the Greens service in December and the Children’s Musical in April. Pick-up is in Music Suite at 5:30pm.
2nd grade to 5th grade Choir – Wednesday, September 13th through November 29th
Directed by Jeanette Simpson
Our older children’s choirs actively engage in worship by singing in traditional services on select Sundays and through leading a Hanging of the Greens service in December and a Children’s Musical in April. Children’s choir is a wonderful place for our elementary age children to learn to lead and serve in the church by offering their gifts to the glory of God. The older Children’s Choir will be in the Chapel from 5pm to 5:40pm after our Gathering Time.
