Advent Devotional

An Empty Devotion

We often think of Advent and Christmas as a season of fulfillment: God’s promise fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ. In another sense, we think of the holiday season as a time of fullness: full of family, food, and festivities—and sometimes full of anxiety, rush, and drama as well. Fulfillment and Fullness: This is Advent and Christmas. Or is it?

This year, our Advent devotional will challenge us to rethink the way we approach this season—not as one of fulfillment and fullness, but rather as a Season of Emptying. Sign up now to receive our daily Advent devotional emails beginning on December 3.

December Events

Throughout December, we have a variety of offerings and events where you can engage the Christmas season in heartfelt, meaningful ways.

You can stop by the church throughout November or December to sign up to purchase a requested gift from either our Murphy-Harpst Christmas tree (hosted by United Methodist Women) or our Mission Giving Tree (hosted by Missions). We will also be selling poinsettias to honor loved ones and Christmas trees to support missions. Order forms for both these sales can be picked up at the church. add

We also have several offerings for youth including a Winter Break Basketball Rising Stars Camp, a 6th-12th Grade Christmas party, a holiday trip to Fernbank, and Christmas in the Ark. You can find more information on these events and others by visiting our Events & Registration page.
