Pastoral Care

The mission of Pastoral Care is to offer hospitality to all people as we welcome, embrace, and sustain those who enter our doors. Caring is the joy of all God’s people, and we seek to connect our Northside family with the strength and comfort of the Holy Spirit through intentional prayer and support in times of crisis.

FOOD ADDICTION SUPPORT GROUP

There is an FA meeting at Northside! FA is a 12-step program for food addiction, modeled after AA. The treatment is for addiction to food rather than alcohol. This program is different from other weight loss programs in that it is not a diet. It is a healthy way of eating that is sustainable for life, combined with a spiritual solution to the issues that were driving the unhealthy eating. FA has been around for many years and has strong fellowships in many large cities but is only now beginning to take off in Atlanta. If you or someone you know could benefit from this, please come! Drop-ins are welcome.

PASTORAL CARE

The mission of Pastoral Care is to offer hospitality to all people, as we welcome, embrace, and sustain those who enter our doors. Caring is the joy of all God’s people, and the Pastoral Care Ministry seeks to connect our Northside family with the strength and comfort of the Holy Spirit through intentional prayer and support in times of crisis.

PRAYER MINISTRY

Prayer is vital to the life and people of the church; prayer has the power to heal, restore, affect change, and kindle great spiritual growth. Our Prayer Ministry serves as a multi-faceted branch of Pastoral Care whose mission is to lift up the needs of our Northside family. Volunteers faithfully pray for those listed on the Prayer Request List, handwrite and mail personal notes of encouragement, and lift up concerns and praises of individual ministries. All may join our church family and community in fervently lifting your petitions to the very One who hears the desires of every heart.

WELCOME NEW BABY

At Northside, we are eager to celebrate and welcome new babies into our church family! The love and bond for a child is one of the strongest in existence, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to nurture your child in God’s love. When a baby is born or adopted, you are invited to call the Pastoral Care office or use the registration button below to let us know of your new addition. We can then include your baby’s name in the Sunday bulletin and provide information on all the learning-rich programming available to you and your little one.
