Missions Overview

Here at Northside Church we feel that Missions outreach is an opportunity to serve others and in doing so grow spiritually as a congregation. Our Missions service opportunities focus primarily on basic needs in the areas of housing and hunger in underserved communities of metro Atlanta.

Our most current opportunities are below.  To learn how you can be more involved, contact

MONTHLY OPPORTUNITIES:

FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH

5:30-6:30pm

Trinity House-Big Bethel– a 36-bed supportive housing and rehabilitation program created in partnership with Big Bethel AME Church in the historic Auburn Avenue District.  The program specifically targets homeless men who are struggling with substance abuse as a significant contributing factor to long-term unemployment, separation from family, and chronic disenfranchisement. Northside Church serves in tandem with Peachtree City UMC the first Tuesday of every month providing dinner and fellowship. If you’d like to volunteer or have any questions about serving at Trinity please contact Scott Toberman, scottktoberman@gmail.com

SECOND TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH

5:30-7:00pm

Covenant House Georgia provides shelter and services to more than 1,300 of Atlanta’s homeless and runaway youth every year. CHGA strives to show love to the youth and provide them with a sense of family and community. One way they do this is by inviting volunteers to prepare and share evening meals at the Covenant House facility. NUMC has committed to providing dinner and fellowship one evening each month on the second Tuesday. We prepare or contribute to the cost of a hot meal for 45-50 youth and/or serve and fellowship with the youth.  Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older. Email Caroline Lombard for more information: carolineunc2000@gmail.com
